Community Impact / Enhanced Partnerships

During the summer of 2023, United Way issued a request for proposals for support of Community Impact programs that align with the priority areas of need: social determinants of health, children’s programs and employment supports.  Applications were accepted through the month of August 2023 via the online grant portal.  In total, 31 applications were received from non-profit organizations providing services to residents of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties.  Volunteer community review panelists representative of all sectors, including “Getting Ahead” graduates, carefully reviewed and evaluated applications, after which the UWNNY Board of Directors approved allocations totaling $225,000 to support vital programs.

In addition to the Community Impact Programs, UWNNY is proud of enhanced partnerships, providing support to program design and/or fiscal sponsorship of three school-based projects with Edwards Knox, Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, and Watertown City School.

Sincere and heartfelt thanks to the many businesses and individuals whose generous support makes the Community Impact program possible!

Check out what your support means to Community Impact!
