Jernabi’s Coffee House in Potsdam and PB&J Café in Lowville will donate a portion of sales of lattes to the United Way of NNY. The money in turn will go to the Suicide Awareness Coalition of St. Lawrence and the Suicide Prevention Coalition in Lewis County.
A similar "Care-A-Latte" program in Watertown produced $600 for the suicide coalition in Jefferson County. PB&J will run its fundraiser during the month of May and Jernabi’s will run its fundraiser from May 20 to May 31.
"We are hoping to continue growing this fundraiser in the north country in the years to come," said Bob Gorman, CEO of the United Way of NNY. "We would like to see more places offer this as the coalitions in each county need financial help for promotion of their services, which unfortunately are needed more and more each year."
